We are a grassroots group of MPEA members who are advocating for changes to union leadership to put our union to work for the members. YourMPEA is committed to protection, transparency, and growth. We want to take care of each other while keeping all union members up to date on our efforts.
YourMPEA is committed to having the best working conditions, salary compensation, and benefits possible.
In 2024, the membership elected the YourMPEA slate. They have learned a lot in their first year. They initiated and carried out the following actions:
- Established fair and transparent MPEA election procedures for 2025
- Increased and improved communications and engagement with membership
- Doubled the number of membership meetings from 2023 to 2024
- Opened Board meetings to members for increased transparency
- Incorporated MPEA to better protect organization and members
- Appropriated Union funds for member education in 2025
- Fostered solidarity with other local government labor unions
- Improved coordination with HR and payroll regarding MPEA dues and membership
